This is designed to accompany a class in high school Chemistry as a Laboratory Experience. Classes start at 9 am and end at 3:30 each day. Lunch and snack breaks(student will need to bring their own snacks and lunch) are given throughout the day. All of the supplies, equipment and materials will be provided.
There will be a mix of hands on labs, demonstrations and speakers. The student will be exposed to various chemical techniques, concepts, and the scientific method. We will begin with the scientific method and an introduction to writing lab reports. Each day we will build on the process of writing lab reports. They will be given homework related to writing lab reports each night. At the end of the intensive they will have fulfilled the laboratory requirement for High School Chemistry Lab. If you are reporting it as a credit. I would report it as a quarter credit.
If you are interested in a full High School Chemistry Credit, I teach the full class with the lab included during the school year at First Baptist Jackson. I don't currently have it scheduled for next year but if I had enough interest, I might add it to the schedule. Let me know if you are interested at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This Chemistry intensive is geared towards 10-12 grade students. Let Me take the headache out of labs for you. To offer this kind of experience at home you would need to order multiple kits online, plus you would need the equipment and supplies to do the labs, not to mention the dirty mess, nasty smells, cleanup, and wondering if you are doing it right. This is a great value for the experience.
Cost for the Intensive $250. $100 due at registration and the balance on or before the first session. $50 of the registration fee is a non-refundable lab fee. To register go here https://sciencewithjudith.weebly.com/intensive-registration.html
I have to have at least 5 students registered in order to hold this intensive so please share this with all your friends.
This will be offered in Jackson, TN, June 11-13, 2018 facility to be announced.
